Everyone must make their own hotel reservations.

The host hotel is where we will begin and end drives.  You are not required to stay there.

Host hotels were selected by trying to get the best value for your dollar which means excellent reviews by Tripadvisor at one of the lowest prices for that level of quality room for that town.  Please use our block of rooms at the two hotels where a discount price has been negotiated.  Block discounts end in a few months.

Please make your room reservations as soon as possible.  All of the rooms offer free cancellation as long as it is done 1-3 days prior to arrival, depending on the hotel.  None of the hotels require pre-payment.  September is still the tourist season near the ocean and prices will continue to increase as September approaches.  On some recent TT West drives, prices doubled or were sold out between registration and the date of the drive, so don’t miss out.

Cambria, CA Sunday night September 22

The Cambria area is divided into Moonstone Beach for ocean hotels and a few restaurants, and downtown which is a few miles inland that has lots of shops, restaurants, bars, etc.  The host hotel is the Castel Inn, 6620 Moonstone Beach Drive in Cambria 805-927-8605.  The ocean is literally a few steps across the road.  (I have stayed here before).  It is a recently renovated two story motel (no elevators).  You can see the ocean (but not the beach) from almost every room but the first floor room views will be blocked by parked cars.

Their internet rate is the best available unless you joint their rewards club which saves about $5.  We do not have a block of rooms so reservations are on your own.  First floor rooms start at an internet rate of $171 and second floor start at $190.  Free cancelation up to 48 hours before the 3 PM check-in.  Free continental breakfast.

There are several other nice hotels within walking distance of the Castle Inn but most are more expensive.  For less expensive rooms consider the Creekside Inn downtown which is a short walk from the town center.  It is at 2618 Main Street, phone 805-927-4021. It also has excellent Tripadvisor reviews with prices starting at $139.

Mill Valley, CA Monday night September 23

The host hotel is the Holiday Inn Express Mill Valley, 160 Shoreline Highway, phone 415-332-5700.  It has a free breakfast.  Hotel prices in the San Francisco area are absurd and this hotel is no exception.  It is the lowest price hotel in the area that also has consistent excellent reviews.  The hotel’s  internet rates start at $270 for AAA members. Free cancelation up to 48 hours before the 3 PM check-in.

A less expensive option is the nearby Muir Woods Lodge at 155 Shoreline Highway, 415-332-1732.  King rooms start at $110 a night.  It is a two story motel with no elevator.  Tripadvisor ratings are very mixed with as many people loving it as hating it, but you are only there for one night if you would like to save some significant cash and give it a try.

Fort Bragg, CA Tuesday night September 24

The host hotel is the Harbor Lite Lodge, 120 North Harbor Drive, phone 707-964-0221.  It is a two story property with no elevators.  We have rooms reserved under the TT West Group.  Rates start at $134, with harbor water view rooms slightly higher.  Our group rate is about 10% off of their best rate shown on the internet but can only be obtained by calling them and asking for the TT West Group.  Our special rate ends May 30.  Free cancelation up to 48 hours before the 3 PM check-in.

Eureka, CA Wednesday night September 25

The host hotel is the Best Western Plus Humboldt Bay Inn, 232 West 5’th Street, phone 707-443-2234.  It is a two story hotel with no elevator.  It is a few blocks from the shops, bars, and restaurants of old downtown.  It features a spa area and free shuttle bus drop-off and pick-up anywhere in town.  It has a free breakfast.  We have a discount rate established that is better than that offered for AAA, etc but can only be had by calling them for a reservation and asking for the TT West rate.  With the TT West discount, standard rooms start at $162 and deluxe rooms start at $177.  The deluxe rooms are worth the splurge because they are larger rooms, renovated this year, with new furniture and a new larger TV.  Free cancelation up to 24 hours before the 4 PM check-in.
